Windsurfing Ready for Liftoff - Red Bull Rockets

A massive turnout of windsurf lovers attended the 'Red Bull Rockets' competition, held at the coast of the beautiful sea village of Santa Lucía. An electronic meter -- equipped with innovative technology that follows and reproduces the movement in 3D and in real time , calculated the height of each jump executed by the participants, whom during the whole competition had it placed in one of their arms. This new technique allows for more accurate scoring of riders and helped register the hight of the jumps objectively. www.redbull.com

Windsurfing in Istanbul - Red Bull Prince of Islands - Turkey

Red Bull Prince of Islands, held at Bodrum Ortakent, is one of the few geographical wind surf races organized in Turkey. As distinct from other races, the race was held on a natural course, rather than a course arranged according to competitors. This course only consisted of the "Çelebi Island" indicated in the middle of the sea. Moreover, as opposed to the Downwind slalom race, Orsa navigation requirement was one of the most challenging rules of the race. The race had very suitable wind conditions between 15 and 17 knots. At the race start time, the participants were asked to sail the highest possible number of tours around the course forming an eight between the referee boat and the "Çelebi Island" within one hour.
